I saw an interesting video for an application Microsoft is working on that allows a user to whistle or hum a tune to their computer, and have the computer create a background track to sing with. They are calling it, "The Whistler Music Synthesizer."

I thought that sounded familiar so I looked and found an application submitted to My Dream App called Whistler.

They both claim to do the same things; on different operating systems.

Guess who copied who?

Nope. Wrong. I looked and found that Microsoft's app was 2002 and Apple's was 2006. However, even further digging revealed a version of a similar app for Mac in 1999 and 1992. So who copied who? I'm willing to guess neither. It's just a good idea without a market.
