LOST (in time)

Now, I've never watched LOST, but I've heard it's good from some friends, and that it's bad/boring from others. When I first saw a trailer, I thought it was a trailer for yet another Survivor.

However, I read this article and now wonder if maybe I should watch it just to see if this story-line fits. I really don't have the time so I won't actually watch it, but this article makes me wish I did.

Is it possible? Could this be the back story? If it turns out to be I may just have to breakdown and watch the whole thing straight through.
